Every studio owner knows the frustration of a fragmented day, stopping and starting with large gaps in between.

A customer books 10–12am, the next booking isn't until 1pm, and that hour gap in between is almost impossible to sell. It's too short for most sessions, too awkwardly placed, and it quietly eats into how much you can actually earn from the room.

Sticky bookings are designed to fix exactly this.

What sticky bookings do

When sticky bookings are switched on, availability is only ever offered as a continuous run of time. Instead of letting customers drop a booking anywhere on the calendar and leave gaps behind, Jammed offers the next available slot directly after an existing booking, so your day fills up as one unbroken block rather than a scatter of sessions with dead time between them.

In practice it works like this. Say you take a booking from 10–11am. Rather than opening the whole rest of the day, Jammed now only offers slots from 11am onwards. If the next customer books 11am-1pm, availability then moves to 1pm and later. Each booking builds on the last, so the room fills progressively in one solid stretch.

The result is better utilisation of every room. For a busy studio with tight turnarounds, that recovered gap time can add up to a meaningful amount of extra bookable hours across a week.

Price bands are respected

If a room has more than one price band like daytime and evening for example, sticky bookings work around them rather than against them. The boundary between bands acts as a natural reset point, so taking a morning booking won't block out your evening slots. Those remain bookable right away, at the correct rate, even if there's a gap between the morning session and the start of the evening band.

Lock to consistent session lengths

There's also an optional layer on top: you can require every booking on a given day to match the length of the first one taken.

So if the day opens with a two-hour booking from 9–11am, you can set the rest of that day to only offer two-hour slots. This is particularly useful for production rooms or DJ spaces that run on regular, predictable session lengths and want a clean, uniform schedule rather than a mix of odd durations.

Who it's for

Sticky bookings won't be necessary for every studio, for example if your calendar rarely fragments or rarely is busy during the day you may never need them. But for the busiest spaces, where turnarounds are tight and every hour of booking availability counts, this is one of the most direct ways to push room utilisation higher.
