Michiko Studios has been part of New York’s musical landscape for decades and is home for an impressive array of artists from beginners to professionals to celebrities. Jammed helps them serve their large and still expanding space to the standards a celebrity would expect.
They needed a booking system that was tailormade for music studios
Camille, who runs Michiko, was looking for a booking system that met the creative space’s specific needs, but only knew of scheduling software for very different business models. When she found Jammed, she knew it had what it takes to manage bookings for a large, successful music studio complex.
Most systems for scheduling are for plumbers, nail salons, restaurants, all these different situations where you don't have the option to, say, add congas in there, throw in some microphones. They're gonna have this many people, they need the piano this way, an extra keyboard. There wasn't one until Jammed. It had exactly that.

Camille and her colleagues now have time to do so much more
With Jammed handling bookings and cancellations, Camille and her team have been given hours of their time back to focus on areas of the business they want to develop, like their social media presence.
Customers can go and book themselves, adjust themselves, they can cancel for themselves. …I look at how many folks have cancelled on their own I'm like huh that probably would have been about a 10-minute phone call for each one of those and there's five cancels that's about an hour. I've made a cool Instagram post in that time! I think it has relieved stress of all those back and forths with customers. We have time to do other projects.

So much of the admin is automated with Jammed, a lot takes care of itself
It’s not just the reservations and cancellations that customers can manage themselves: they can also add gear hire, time with experts and the price adjusts accordingly. If sessions run over, they can book an extra half hour in real time while in the studio just by going on the app.
[Jammed] has add-ons for extra gear, that was even labeled and set up already in the software. There's a dropdown for gear options, there's a dropdown for your customer base, your past booking, and who's paid, who hasn't paid, there's price differences when we add additional gear…

When new studio staff join the team, Jammed is intuitive and easy to learn
It used to take new members of Michiko staff weeks to learn to use their old system, but Camille says everything about Jammed is easy.
When training a new team member, bringing them into the old software was like a two-week process. For new staff coming in at Michiko now, it’s all there in front of them. To have all those little things where you can solve issues easily, you can find the answer if someone asks a question. It’s so easy and so transparent.

Jammed has even helped Michiko bring in new customers
Jammed gives the customer all the information about the studio upfront, so if they’re not familiar with the space, the set-up, the gear for hire etc, they can scroll through photos of the rooms, check dimensions to make sure the space is the right size for their needs, and make sure there’s the equipment they need where and when they need it. And that’s all in one easy-to-use app.
Having Jammed as a platform to book for Michiko has been super helpful bringing in new customers, especially nowadays so many folks don’t like being on the phone, emailing and all of that can be a lot, so through Jammed they can just go onto their phone, they can find the time that works for them and it shows them all the rooms lined up, what's in them with the photo there…
